17th Annual Robbie Mills Memorial 8 Ball Tournament, a fundraising event at the Laconia Winni Bar & Billiards on march 8th to benefit the Greater Lakes Region Children's Auction and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lakes Region.

17th Annual Robbie Mills Memorial Pool Tournament
Saturday, March 8, 2025

The money raised provides direct service to children throughout the year.

In 2007, The Robbie Mills Memorial 8 Ball Tournament was born to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lakes Region. In the past 16 years the event has raised over $107,000, now heading into the 17th year, we are hoping to top last year's effort and bring our total to over $120,000.

Robbie's Story

August 2nd, 1998: Robert J. "Robbie" Mills, 14, dies, the victim of murder in connection with the theft of his bicycle. Hundreds of mourners attended calling hours for the youth on August 7th as an "angry and bewildered community" searched for closure. Mills had been a student at Memorial Middle School where he was going to enter the eighth grade in September. He was active in sports and loved NASCAR racing and the outdoors. He had been employed at Bonanza Steak House and had purchased his bicycle with his own money.

In Robbie's memory we work together to provide funding for the Boys & Girls Club and the Children's Auction. We also support the Robbie Mills Sports Complex so that the youth have a place for sports as well as an opportunity for after school programs. These are things that Robbie felt we should have. By making these things a reality it brings something positive out of a tragedy.
