About the Boys & Girls Club of the North Country

The Club provides after school enrichment and summer camps to over 100 children in the North Country. We expect to open a full time early learning center for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in Spring 2026.

Meaningful Opportunities

Many, many Boys & Girls Club kids and alumni credit the Club with uncovering their strengths, talents and a desire to help others succeed.

Each year, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the North Country...

  • Nurtures kids with snacks;

  • Inspires kids through programs and activities in five core program areas: education & career, character and leadership, the arts, health and lifeskills and fitness and recreation;

  • Motivates kids through connections with caring adults and peers;

  • Protects kids by giving them a place to go when they are not in school;

  • Enables kids by providing financial assistance to after school programs and summer camp.

Mission-Driven

We are a non-profit organization with a mission to provide a fun, safe, positive, place for all children of the North Country under the guidance of caring adults.

Safety-Driven

Children's safety is our highest priority.  All our sites are state-licensed and follow strict protocols for staff screening and training.

At the Boys & Girls Clubs of the North Country:

  • FBI Fingerprint Background Checks are conducted on every staff member over age 18 and every volunteer in direct contact with children.

  • Adults are prohibited from being alone with one minor.  This includes all of our service sites, bus rides to and from the Club, mentoring services, etc.

  • Adults are not to be alone with a child in the bathroom with the door closed.

  • All staff receive training on sexual harassment, sexual grooming and signs of child sexual abuse.

  • All staff receive and review policies and procedures, including the employee toolkit and policy manual.

  • All program staff are required to receive professional development each year.
